The Spark program is open to all nonprofit Civic Shout partners with a suppression file under 500,000 contacts. Here’s how to claim your 1,000 new, US-based supporters each and every month:

  1. Maintain an email list suppression file in Civic Shout’s database containing less than 500,000 contacts while the Spark credits are being redeemed.
  2. Publish a new Civic Shout petition each month and boost it with your free new-to-list credits directly from your petition dashboard
  3. Sit back as fired-up new supporters sign your petition and join your email community
  4. Repeat every month

Can I acquire new opt-ins in a specific geographic area?
No. At this time, Spark can only be used to acquire US-based supporters without any geographic limitations.

Can political campaigns and PACs gain free supporters through Civic Shout Spark?
Due to FEC regulations, the Spark program is only for 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) nonprofit organizations.

Why are you giving away free credits for opt-in supporters?
Because we want to do everything we can to support progressive causes. We believe that one of the best things we can do to make the world a better place is to help build the capacity of grassroots progressive organizations that are fighting for racial justice, women’s rights, economic justice, LGBTQ rights, a livable planet, and more.

Our email list is over 500,000 contacts... Can we participate in Spark anyway?
Yes, although you’ll need to maintain a suppression file with less than 500,000 contacts while your Spark credits are being redeemed. We recommend using a reactivation suppression file that only includes up to 500,000 of your most active members.
