This major update is designed to help your acquisition orders fulfill more quickly and lays the groundwork for Express CPC, our new fixed-cost-per-click ad system—launching later this summer.

Some things work a little differently now.

Our new campaign-based design allows you to group your petition ads based on objective, geo-targeting, and budget—enabling you to run multiple ads at the same time.

In short, the more ads that you have published and delivering, the faster your orders will fulfill.

If your suppression file is under 100K, for instance, you could be fine with 1-3 ads, but if it’s notably larger, you’ll benefit from having 6-10+ active petition ads per acquisition campaign.

If you’ve already created petitions on Civic Shout, you’ll notice they’ve been grouped (along with any orders) into an initial campaign named “Legacy petition ads”.

From here, you can create ads, toggle existing ones off/on, or place a new order—similar to what you might do in Meta or Google’s ad platforms.

Sometimes creating a new campaign to group ads in various ways makes sense.

But in general, you’ll enjoy a simpler experience if you only create new campaigns when you have an objective or geo-targeting requirement that’s not already part of an existing campaign.

In summary, creating new ads in existing campaigns is simpler and just as effective.
